Dee Livingood was a big man with big dreams of construction success. In 1967, with $1,000 from the sale of his blue Volkswagen, Dee started Big-D Construction in Ogden, Utah. He used his nickname — Big “D” — as his company moniker. Dee laid down a culture of honesty and fairness and then carefully began building a skilled team to help grow his company. |
| In 1978, Jack Livingood carried on the vision and became CEO in 1998. Along with senior leaders Rob Moore and Dale Satterthwaite, they helped Dee grow the company from a small, local presence in the late 1970s, to a dynamic company with sales of more than $688 million and 680 associates in 21 states. Through this leadership Big-D has been ranked in the top 400 contractors by ENR magazine for over 20 years. | ![]() |
