Micron selected Big-D Construction Corp. to construct a computer chip fabrication facility in the foothills of Utah’s Lehi valley. With a dedicated workforce of over 2,400 people, this $120 million, four-level, high-technology facility was constructed on a fast track eight month schedule. Big-D met the owner’s requests of multiple changes in the scope of work.
The team meticulously placed miles of ultra-high purity piping and thousands of feet of duct work, poured 52,203 cubic yards of concrete, erected 5,238 tons of structural steel, and installed 5,950 tons of rebar.
Design in the fabrication space includes 100,000 sq.-ft. of Class 1 clean
room space with a Plascore (honeycomb) wall system and a Pace 2.6 ceiling
grid system.
