SALT LAKE CITY— Big-D Construction Corporation has been ranked among the top 400 contractors in the nation by Engineering News Record (ENR) magazine earlier this month. The New York-based publication — which provides an annual ranking of the nation's top contractors based upon total revenue — ranked Big-D Construction 115 in the nation for 2008; up from 146 in 2007, a 7.75 % increase.

This is the twentieth consecutive year Big-D has earned a spot in the listing. ENR listed their total revenue for 2007 in excess of $543 million.

Big-D Construction also continues to increase in organization size.  As one of the largest construction companies in the country, Big-D employs more than 600 associates throughout the Western United States; a 14% increase from 2007 employment.  

According to ENR senior editor, Gary Tulaez, the ranking places Big-D Construction in the top one-quarter of one percent of contractors in the United States. "This listing represents over 100,000 licensed building and heavy highway contractors throughout the nation and approximately one-quarter of one percent of all licensed contractors," Tulaez said.
