Big-D Wins ABC Utah 2008 Excellence in Construction Awards

Big-D Construction Earns Honors for ABC Utah's 2008 Excellence in Construction Awards

OGDEN, UT – May 20, 2009 – Big-D Construction was recently awarded nine awards by the Associated Builders and Contractors of Utah for the “2008 Excellence in Construction” awards competition.

Big-D was awarded a 2008 Utah Labor Commission Safety Award, recognizing the company’s commitment to safety in the workplace.

In addition, eight projects completed by Big-D in the past year received awards in the following categories:

  • BYU Cannon Center – Phase 1 (Institutional Over $10 Million)
  • Associated Food Stores (Industrial Over $5 Million)
  • Swaner Eco Center (LEED® Platinum Anticipated/”Green”)
  • Newpark Hotel/Condominiums (Honorable Mention, Commercial Over $5 Million)
  • Noah’s Center (Honorable Mention, Commercial Over $5 Million)
  • University of Utah College of Social Work (Honorable Mention, Institutional Under $5 Million)
  • Center for Advanced Energy Studies (Honorable Mention, Institutional Over $5 Million)
  • Freeport West Building #4 (Honorable Mention, Industrial Over $5 Million)
