Big-D Construction and Architectural Nexus Begin Design on New Assisted Care Facility for Avalon Health Care

Taylorsville, UT – August 17, 2009 – Big-D Construction and design partner Architectural Nexus recently began design for a new assisted care facility for Avalon Health Care. The facility will be located in Taylorsville, Utah, on a 5 acre site located adjacent to the Taylorsville City Building.

The 75-unit, 104-bed facility, with 15 units dedicated to memory care, is a collaborative effort among the City of Taylorsville, Avalon Health Care, finance firm Argenta Group, Big-D Construction, Architectural Nexus and design architect BeeryRio. This method of project delivery is another example of a Private / Public Partnership. The credit crisis has forced cities throughout the United States to be creative in order to bring new businesses to their city. Taylorsville’s vision may become the standard in the near future.

Avalon Health Care is the premier provider of health care services in five states in the West: Arizona, California, Hawaii, Washington and Utah. Their operational philosophy, to “embrace a reverence for life, and a heart for healing,” has its origins in Western values and the seniors they serve. Their high standard of care and value-driven business has changed the way people think about senior care.
