SALT LAKE CITY – January 5, 2009 — Balfour Beatty | DPR | Big-D (www.balfourdprbigd.com) announced today that it will host a Small Business Outreach Open House on Tuesday, January 12 from 3-7 p.m. Mountain Standard Time. The event will be held at Big-D Construction’s corporate headquarters located at 404 West 400 South in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The purpose of this open house is to reach out to and network with the local and small business community, agencies and associations and create possible subcontracting opportunities with the Balfour Beatty | DPR | Big-D team on the new (NSA) Utah Data Center at Camp Williams.
The new 1,000,000 square foot facility will include:
• 100,000 square feet of mission critical data center space with raised flooring
• 900,000 square feet of technical support and administrative space
• Water treatment facilities (pre and post)
• Vehicle inspection facility
• Interim visitor control center
• Perimeter site security measures
• Fuel storage
• Water storage
• Chiller plant
• Fire suppression systems
• 100% electrical generator and UPS back up capacity
USACE (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers) and NSA have embarked on an important project of building a complex Data Center at Camp Williams. Balfour Beatty Construction is a national builder with a large Federal projects portfolio. DPR is an expert in mission critical facilities, and Big-D is a long time Salt Lake City general contractor specializing in commercial construction, public spaces, healthcare facilities, resorts, food processing and distribution, manufacturing and retail construction projects.
Balfour Beatty Construction, DPR Construction and Big-D Construction partnered to form Balfour Beatty | DPR | Big-D (www.balfourdprbigd.com) in an effort to secure the construction contract for the national Security Agency’s (NSA) planned Utah Data Center.
The Balfour Beatty | DPR | Big-D joint venture combines national and local resources and expertise in the mission critical facilities’ delivery.
