Big-D Construction Receives Tilt-Up Concrete Association Safety Awards

SALT LAKE CITY – March 1, 2010 — Big-D Construction (www.big-d.com) was recently awarded two 2009 safety awards by the Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA), headquartered in Mount Vernon, Iowa.

Big-D Construction received two from a possible 21 awards given in five categories:

• “Most Improved Safety Achievement Award.” This award recognizes the firm with the most improved incident rate in 2009 from the numbers reported in 2008.

• “Certificate of Recognition – Sub National Average.” This award recognizes companies whose incident rate fell below the national average for structure contractors.

TCA, which has 395 members, announced the winners in its quarterly publication, Tilt-Up Today.

TCA is the leading trade organization in the industry for tilt-up construction. Tilt-up construction is a method in which concrete wall panels are cast on-site and tilted into place Founded in 1986 by a group of contractors, professionals and manufacturers, TCA works to expand and improve the use of Tilt-Up as the preferred method for commercial concrete construction.
