Develop intellect. Encourage spiritual growth. Instill a sense of community. (And consider the views.) These were the goals behind the vision of Skaggs Catholic Center — the largest primary and secondary Catholic campus in the United States — and Big-D welcomed the opportunity to help bring this vision to life.
Skaggs Catholic Center includes a high school and an elementary school that rest on 57 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, which incorporate a reflecting pond, a rose garden and over $1 million in statue art.
Juan Diego High School includes 56 classrooms, a library, media center, dining hall, choral and band rooms, dance rooms, visual arts center, auditorium, theater, two gymnasiums, and spacious science and computer labs.
St. John the Baptist Elementary includes 20 classrooms, a library, administrative offices, multi-purpose room, cafeteria and a 5,000 square-foot Guardian Angel Daycare Facility.
Extensive athletic facilities include a full football field, full soccer/track field, three regulation-size softball/baseball fields and several practice soccer/softball fields.
To facilitate spiritual and intellectual growth, a chapel was incorporated into the design of the campus, and each library was constructed facing the commons area, which serves as a focal point of the campus, and inspires a sense of community within the students.
The Skaggs Catholic Center is recipient of the following awards:
