FA/22 FUELED COMPOSITE AIRCRAFT TEST FACILITY

Total Size: 71,688 square feet
Duration: 29 months
Location: Hill Air Force Base, UT

This project is a new one-story, 71,688 square-foot (SF) aircraft hangar structure and maintenance facility as part of the F/A-22 Fueled Composite Aircraft Overhaul/Test Facility. This long-span steel-framed hangar includes equipment platforms and support areas and has concrete spread footing foundations. The facility is divided into three areas including a paint-booth building, a flight-test hangar and a support area. The paint-booth hangar will accommodate up to three paint booths or paint-booth inserts. The flight-test hangar holds two F/A-22 aircraft for maintenance and testing. An overhead running-crane system services both aircraft bays. The administration/support area includes a main entrance, security, integrated management information system (IMIS) conference room, offices, break room, locker rooms, toilets, tool room, material inventory control room, paint storage, paint mixing and utility room.

This facility incorporates a number of site improvements which are relevant to the AVCRAD – Phase I including an equipment yard, a fire pump house, a parking lot and access road ways. Site utilities include water lines, sanitary lines, storm sewers, natural gas, primary electrical, communication systems and a lift station.
