AS ONE OF UTAH’S LEADING BUILDERS OF EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES, BIG-D was chosen by the State of Utah (DFCM) to provide exclusive design-build services for Uintah Basin College of Applied Technology in Vernal, Utah. The 83,475 square-foot project comprises two new structures — an industrial technology facility and adjacent classroom building — as well as all related site work.
Construction of the UBCAT Classroom Building and Industrial Technology Facility helped to facilitate growth through expansion of educational opportunities and course offerings within the Uintah Basin region. Alleviating crowded conditions at the existing building will also enable the college to accommodate additional externally-funded research projects.
The new buildings include curriculum space for a variety of trades, including health, computers, drafting/CADD, chemistry, biology, food services, heavy equipment maintenance and operation, petroleum technology, welding, and building.
