KENNECOTT UTAH COPPER MINE OFFICE BUILDING
Total Size: 12,000 square feet
Duration: 7 Months
Location: Utah
Built on the lip of the Kennecott Copper mine, the world’s largest open pit mine, this project consisted of six structural pod units totaling 12,000 square feet. The six pod units were designed so they could be disassembled and relocated if necessary, as the mine grows. The office building achieved a LEED Silver Rating and provides Kennecott Copper with administrative office space for the mine management, engineering, and safety personnel. The building includes conference rooms and break room facilities, offices and cubicles, as well as an open center court patio. The building sits 100 yards from the main haul road for the mine where the occupants can interact with the Mine Operations on a daily basis.
