- Description
Aspire Richmond Technology Academy is a new, K-5 public charter school. Construction began with the demolition of three existing buildings on site. The new school is comprised of three concrete tilt-up panel buildings – two 61,000-sf, two-story classrooms buildings and a 12,000-sf, single-story gymnasium building. The two larger buildings include traditional classrooms, STEM classrooms, labs, music rooms, private study rooms, open creative spaces, a central office, multi-purpose room, library, administrative offices, common seating areas, restrooms, and support spaces. The gymnasium features a basketball court with hardwood flooring and a fitness room with weights and athletic equipment. Construction of exterior site improvements included an athletic field, playground equipment, and an 111-space parking lot with electric vehicle charging stations. To support sustainability goals, the concrete and asphalt from the demolished buildings were reused for aggregate base rock material under the new parking lot.
