The Jackson Hole Children’s Museum project was a 5,120-square-foot interior renovation that transformed an existing space into Jackson Hole’s only children’s museum and creative work studio. Unlike a traditional architect-driven project, construction was closely coordinated alongside custom exhibit fabrication, requiring daily collaboration between Big-D Signature, Gyde Architects, the ownership team, local artists, and exhibit fabricators. The evolving nature of the exhibits demanded flexibility throughout construction while ensuring every space remained durable, child-friendly, and adaptable for future programming.
Big-D Signature was proud to partner with the Jackson Hole Children’s Museum on a project that brings lasting value to the community. Creating a space where children can learn, explore, and express their creativity made this project especially meaningful for our team. Through thoughtful coordination and craftsmanship, we delivered an engaging environment designed to inspire curiosity, imagination, and play for generations of Jackson families.

Jackson Hole Children’s Museum

The Deer Valley East Village ski lifts project highlights complex high-altitude construction at Deer Valley Resort.
From the first footing to the final operational lift, this Deer Valley Ski Lift project represents what Signature does best — complex, high-consequence construction delivered with precision, safety, and care. We&#8217;re honored to have contributed to Deer Valley Resort&#8217;s continued evolution as a world-class destination. 
Spanning multiple ski off-seasons, our scope encompassed site and structural concrete, structural steel, and the full installation of equipment for seven ski lifts and four major support structures and buildings. Notable finished elements include Deer Valley&#8217;s signature green sheathing, metal grating platforms, and maintenance crane hoists. 
All lift equipment and templates were supplied by Doppelmayr. Structural plans were developed jointly by GSBS Architects and DM engineers — many of which were detailed in millimeters, underscoring the tolerance and accuracy required in the field. 
The logistical challenges of high-altitude construction are significant, and this project was no exception. Our team deployed spider excavators on steep hillsides and coordinated Sikorsky Black Hawk helicopters to fly in tools and concrete across terrain inaccessible by conventional means. In total, 5,163 cubic yards of concrete were placed via helicopter operations. Each tower and column contains approximately 3,000–5,000 pounds of reinforcing steel, and some footing cages exceeded 8,000 pounds — requiring them to be broken into sections before they could be flown to elevation.

This project was the construction of a new recreation center, known as “The Hub,” for the National Ability Center’s Park City campus. The Hub is the largest indoor recreation, meeting, and event space at the National Ability Center. The open floor plan and overhead garage-style doors enable visitors to stay connected to the great outdoors while partaking in a variety of activities in the large space, such as climbing the rock wall or other active experiences, to audio-visually-equipped conferences and gatherings.

National Ability Center Hub

The Wells Fargo Jackson Town Square project is the first ground up project built on the Jackson Town Square in nearly 20 years. Located near Jackson’s iconic elk antler arches in the historic Town Square, this is a project in a prominent location where 2.6 million people visit each year.
The exterior of the bank is clad in Lyons Sandstone with precast panels and an exposed steel canopy. A new wider boardwalk wraps around the bank and provides an excellent location for summertime viewing of the nightly Jackson Town Square Shootout. The roof is designed with an outdoor patio deck for a future restaurant on the adjacent property.

Wells Fargo Bank – Jackson Town Square

Located on the ground floor of a mixed-use apartment complex in the heart of Sugar House, Hearth and Hill&#8217;s Restaurant and Coffee Shop is a modern-industrial aesthetic through its white-brick exterior and open kitchen design. The space transitions seamlessly from the restaurant&#8217;s dynamic culinary hub to a cozy coffeehouse area. 
The distinctive design elements project transformed 10,985 square feet of former retail space into Hearth and Hill&#8217;s latest Sugar House location through an extensive tenant improvement. Premium finishes elevate the space, including finished-in-place hardwood flooring, bespoke lighting fixtures, a horseshoe-shaped bar, an intimate chef&#8217;s counter, and a private dining room with patio access. The project also marks a Utah milestone as the first installation of PK30 doors in the state.

Salt Lake City, UT

Hearth & Hill – Sugar Alley

We constructed a wood-framed core and shell development featuring 11 multi-family residential units in Park City, Utah. Each two-story unit includes an attached garage and upper-level deck with ski resort views. 
Units were delivered in warm shell condition with all utilities roughed-in, providing owners the flexibility to customize their interior buildout. Conveniently located at the Highway 189 and Highway 248 junction, this live-work-play development offers versatile spaces designed for working, living, and recreation.

Altitude Lofts

Wasatch Fire District Station 51 redefines what a modern fire station can be, bold in design, efficient in function, and built to last. This 25,700-square-foot facility, supported by a 3,000-square-foot auxiliary building, blends architectural impact with operational excellence. The station&#8217;s commanding presence centers on its expansive apparatus bay, featuring six striking fire-red folding doors that create a bold architectural statement. Constructed with durable CMU block masonry, the building&#8217;s distinctive sharp angular design reflects modern firefighting capabilities while establishing a contemporary community landmark. 
The facility expertly balances operational efficiency with public engagement through thoughtfully designed spaces. Essential living areas include multiple sleep rooms, a full kitchen, dayroom, and fitness facility to support 24/7 operations. Administrative functions are housed in dedicated office spaces, while specialized operational areas encompass gear rooms, tool cribs, decontamination laundry facilities, and extensive storage solutions.

Heber City, UT

Wasatch Fire Station 51

Big-D Signature has completed our highest-elevation project yet—a ski patrol hut at the summit of Alta Ski Resort. The Sugarloaf Patrol Building, perched at an impressive 10,550 feet, is a 600-sf, two-story structure that provides Alta’s ski patrol team with a much-needed vantage point over the Sugar Bowl area.

This place, which was previously difficult to monitor, is now clearly visible to the patrol, enhancing their ability to ensure everyone’s safety on the slopes. For our team, this project wasn’t just another job, it was a chance to create something impactful for an iconic ski destination.
From navigating steep and rugged terrain to managing an exceptionally tight construction timeline, the project’s unique demands required the team to work creatively and effectively to bring it to life.
After two and a half intense months, we wrapped up this special project, achieving a major milestone not only as our highest project in elevation but as a powerful testament to the resilience and dedication of our team and Altas.

Alta, UT

Alta Sugarloaf Patrol Building

A unique addition to Brighton Resort, this mid-mountain lodge is a single story 4,618 square-foot hybrid structure that includes three repurposed shipping containers; one container serves as a pre-constructed restroom pod while the other two containers combine to one large kitchen as a commercial counter-style restaurant. On each side of the container module, two dining halls framed with heavy timber and steel will accommodate 180 hungry outdoor enthusiasts. Additionally, the exterior seating areas will provide 7,600 square feet of outdoor seating occupancy on a heated concrete terrace for outdoor dining and relaxation experiences.

&#8220;We are thrilled about this project because we are always looking for ways to give our skiers and snowboarders the best experience when they are at Brighton,&#8221; said Mike Doyle of Brighton Resort. &#8220;Sidewinder Grill will offer a beautiful setting with greater accessibility to food, restrooms and amenities for all of our guests across both the winter and summer seasons on the mountain.&#8221;

Sidewinder Grill is located right above the Snake Creek ski lift, and where the Sunshine and Pioneer runs meet, giving patrons additional on-mountain options. In addition, Signature provided concrete foundations for (16) towers and top and bottom 
terminals for a new Doppelmayr D-series lift to replace the existing 30-year-old lift. This lift is one of the main 
lifts running from the parking lot to the top ridge. The bottom terminal sits at an elevation of 8,784’ with the 
top terminal at 9,980’.
