Gatsby Apartments

The Gatsby Apartments is a new, 388,000-sf, high-end multi-family housing project located in downtown Minneapolis. The building is a six-story, wood frame structure built atop a precast concrete podium with two levels of subgrade parking below. The project includes one level of retail and a mix of apartment styles, including units with street-level access via private patios. Gatsby Apartments feature a visually appealing, varied exterior skin consisting of brick, metal panel, and Hardie lap siding. Community amenities include a state-of-the-art fitness center/yoga room, bicycle workshop, outdoor pool and spa, a top floor clubroom gathering space, and electric vehicle charging points. Throughout the project, Big-D successfully managed challenges that included a very limited storage and laydown area due to the downtown location, numerous Owner-initiated changes, as well as COVID-19 related supply chain issues that increased scarcity of certain materials and/or extended lead times. Ultimately, the project was delivered safely with minimal delays.
