  • Description

The Hopi Tribal Housing project is a 40-unit design-build for the Hopi Tribal Housing Authority and Hopi Indian Community. Encompassing 69,000-sf, the development includes 18 single-family homes and 11 duplex units, ranging in size from 840-sf to 1610-sf with the option of one-five bedrooms in each. The site is approximately 16.3 acres with wet- and dry-piped utilities, site lighting, asphalt paved roads and parking, fencing, desert landscaping, a baseball diamond, ramada, tot lot playground and a basketball court. The new housing complex will tie into the existing adjacent housing development to the northeast. Housing construction is single story, wood-frame with carports and exterior storage, standing-seam metal roofs and foam-insulated roof and walls. A post-tension floor slab and foundation method was used in lieu of a conventional pad and floor and foundation construction to combat varying footing depths with hard dig conditions.
