Since 1993, Big-D has been the “builder of choice” for Utah-based Gossner Foods. Imperial Valley Cheese of California is the latest member to join the Gossner Foods Family. Their new plant in Imperial Valley is located near the border of Mexico.

The 22,500-square-foot facility produces specialty cheeses such as Swiss, cheddar and muenster for the California and Mexico markets. The production plant included a 150-foot by 150-foot pre-cast roof with a three-inch concrete topping, a single-ply roof membrane and parameter pre-cast walls. The interior consisted of concrete abuse walls with insulated metal panels to the ceiling. The plant has standard masonry walls in support areas and glazed block in production areas. The interior included specialties like an epoxy floor coating system and fiberglass reinforced epoxy systems in brine areas.
