Janicki Industries Manufacturing Facility

Janicki Industries is a privately owned engineering and manufacturing company that designs and builds high-precision parts and tooling for aerospace, marine, energy, space, military, and transportation customers. This new facility is adjacent to Hill Air Force Base and with contractual agreements with the military’s F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program, Janicki required fast-tracked, design-build construction of a new 104,000-sf, build-to-suit facility. The plant is a composite manufacturing plant with three 30-foot long Janicki 5-axis CNC mills. Crews installed approximately 8,000 cubic yards of structural concrete gantries and beams to support a massive 20-ton milling machine which was required to align perfectly with the three mills. Precision was critical. To maintain floor integrity, Big-D used perimeter casting slabs outside the building footprint and put the floor in after the concrete tilt-up panels were raised, and the roof installed. During commissioning, Janicki passed the required vendor certifications on the first attempt – which was unprecedented and speaks highly to the quality construction practices Big-D provided.
