Lindquist’s Syracuse Mortuary

Lindquist’s Syracuse Mortuary is a new, ground up project located in a small community in northern Utah. The mortuary is a 12,580-sf, single-story, structural steel supported masonry building. Interior elements include an elongated foyer with quiet seating areas, a large chapel, two family viewing areas, offices for meeting with clergy for discussing arrangements and selection of caskets and urns, administrative offices, and restrooms and storage. The aesthetic tone is traditional throughout with extensive millwork and custom wood box beams accenting the vaulted ceilings. The building exterior included construction of numerous precast concrete columns spanning the front of building and at each rear entrance. Larger columns surround the entryway to accentuate the public entrance and window headers and sills are also custom precast concrete to accent the dramatic columns and create a cohesive exterior design.
