    The TAN-691 facility located at the Idaho National Laboratory’s (INL) Test Area North was a ground up project for the construction of a new building to be used as a maintenance/shop and vehicle storage facility. The building is a support facility for the INL’s Specific Manufacturing Capability (SMC). SMC has been the lead manufacturer of armor packages for the U.S. Army’s Abrams main battle tank. This facility will be utilized by the U.S. Army.

    The building is a steel structure that is clad with metal wall panels and utilizes a TPO roofing system. It features three drive-thru bays for vehicle service and seven additional bays accessed by roll-up doors dedicated to vehicle storage. Vehicle maintenance areas have adjacent support space for work benches and special tools/equipment and also features an EnviroLube service pit. Interior areas/layout includes office space, a break room, restrooms, fire riser room, and mechanical and electrical rooms.
