- Description
After 50 years in its original facility, the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah has a new home, more than 50 percent larger than the original building. The six-story structure accommodates a projected student population of 450, providing classrooms, training courtrooms, administrative office space, common areas, research areas, individual & collaborative study space, dining, a student lounge, lockers and more.
The Law School sits at a main campus entry point next to Rice-Eccles Football Stadium and across from a light-rail station, needless to say the building needed to have strong visual impact. The glass, brick, and metal exterior provide a welcoming gateway to campus visitors. The top floor features the 450-person Moot Courtroom auditorium which opens up onto a roof-top terrace.
